Environmental Awards

 

AGCSA Claude Crockford Environmental Award, presented in partnership with Syngenta

AGCSA’s Claude Crockford Environmental Award aims to recognize Golf Course Superintendents’ for their commitment to sustainable land management, long term planning, community involvement and overall environmental stewardship of the golf course landscape. Protection of indigenous plant and animal populations, restoration of habitat and a desire to protect sensitive areas are highly regarded aspects of this award.

The Claude Crockford is awarded annually since 1996. In selecting the winner of this prestigious award, consideration is given to the following;

·         Demonstration of a high level of individual initiative.

·        Demonstrated commitment to the protection of the existing natural environment, environmental best practice and environmental stewardship.

  • Description of overall objective for environmental change. 

  • Description of current environment on the golf course.

  • Demonstrate commitment to land management and sustainability.

  • Description of the clubs environmental management plan. 

  • Process that is being undertaken to protect native flora and fauna.

  • Process for the protection of sensitive areas.

E-PAR

The objective review of e-par’s integrity by the Newcastle City Council and the DEC (formerly EPA) confirms its value and enhances it’s credibility as an effective environmental management tool. Winning the awards establishes e-par's relevance for the industry it was designed to help. In 2005 e-par won the following awards for environmental excellence;

Best Environmental Product and Service

This award was for products or services which benefit the environment.

 

Best Environmental Policy and Planning

This award was for policies, strategic plans and environmental management systems that improve environmental performance.

 

Division Winner – Business and Government

This award determined e-par as the best environmental management product in the Business and Government category.

 

Winner - Innovation at MAP Fastest Growing Business Awards

In July 2006 e-par was the winner of the award for Innovation at MAP Fastest Growing Business Awards
